Lifeguards2U was founded by Las Vegas residents Maria Moilanen and Steve Cox.

Maria began her lifeguard career in New Jersey in 1985 after swimming competitively from age 4 to 18. She became an American Red Cross Instructor in 1987. Maria worked at several community and resort pools / health clubs in NJ.

Maria earned her 2 associate degrees at Atlantic Community College in Mayslanding, NJ. Maria then relocated to and transferred to UNLV in Las Vegas. In 1993, she opened up the new MGM Grand Hotel as Pool Supervisor before moving to The Mirage where she became Pool Manager. Maria has always taught swim lessons and lifeguard training. Her love of the water has led her to opening up a business to help the community fill it's lifeguard stands. (Not an easy task in such a fast growing area) Due to local demand, Lifeguards2U has expanded their services to include staffing for private pool parties. Maria, husband Dean and their four children reside in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Steve is a Southern California native who relocated to Nevada in 1984 Steve, his wife Joyce, and their three children reside in Henderson, Nevada. His love of animals led him to become instructor certified in American Red Cross Pet CPR and First Aid. In addition to his Lifeguard and CPR Instructor Certification with The American Red Cross he became Instructor Certified with The American Heart Association.
